Prince Reyson of the Heron Clan

The third prince of the fallen kingdom of Serenes, he and his father King Lorazieh were rescued by King Tibarn of Phoenicis during the outbreak of the Serenes Massacre, when they were on the verge of death. Since then, Reyson has been residing in Phoenicis with his bedridden father for twenty years, after the destruction caused by Begnion.

Reyson’s life has been marked by tragedy. He lost most of his family and fellow Herons during a terrible forest fire caused by humans. Herons, by nature are congenial, quiet and peaceful creatures. They care for the harmony and balance of nature, treating each creature equally and with grace. After the fire, Reyson stopped caring for any of that. Blunt and sharp-tongued, Reyson no longer holds himself back with the poised innate grace of the Herons (though it lingers within him, whether he likes it or not) and rarely holds back from speaking his opinion. He holds a strong aversion to mankind due to their crimes, but after Ike and his crew rescued his sister and risked everything to save Reyson as well, he has learned to let go of his past grievances, giving humans a chance at least.

Because of his loss and his upbringing by the Hawk Clan, Reyson’s strongest desire is to be powerful. To never feel weak and helpless again. Unfortunately, his own biology counters that impulse as he falls sick if he eats meat and if he ever tried to hurt another creature, he would end up breaking all the bones in his body. Still, Reyson isn’t going to let something like biology stop him, continually trying to find ways to increase his strength. Not one for false compliments or awe, Reyson cares little for his awe-inspiring beauty and looks, preferring to be praised for his actions and decisions.

With an intense determination to do everything within his power to change the world, Reyson has a backbone of steel. He is fiercely loyal to those who earn his countenance and will do whatever it takes to protect those he can. While not the most forgiving of people, Reyson is willing to offer chances to those who need it. Just don’t abuse his trust.
